What a find!! If you haven't been there... Go, this place is incredible! Located On Boul St Jean, DDO in a strip mall, Bistro Nolah is anything but Ordinary. The lunch menu is concise about 10 choices including soup, salad and dessert. The prices range from $12 to $16 and an appetizer+main course or dessert+main course is offered for $16. The staff is knowledgeable and able to recommend wine to complement a meal, I love that. I had the Duck Confit, a house specialty, it was beautifully prepared. Nice and crisp on the outside and falling off the bone, served with lovely mashed potatoes and tender broccolini as well as a sweet balsamic reduction, Fantastic! Easily the best duck I have ever tasted. I followed with a scrumptious Bourbon bread pudding, it was piping hot covered in a strong bourbon/caramel sauce. 4 3/4 mmm's out of 5
The day’s here, the baby bird is pushed from the nest as I have a firm hold on one wing. I stayed home with my kids and worked part time. Now what? Of course there are my favourite things -eating and drinking wine- I am going to concentrate on sharing them. Yep, that is what I am going to do! If you want to talk about good food and wine, recipes and have a few laughs, jump on board, I could use the company :)
