Richards Seafood, Covehead wharf, Prince Edward Island -lunch review

Richard's Seafood is a quaint little restaurant located on the stunning North Shore of PEI. Positioned on the wharf, allows for 'Fresh from the Ocean' seafood and beautiful views.

Richard's Seafood on Urbanspoon   Place your order at the take out window and receive a buzzer that will activate when your food is ready. Good food takes a while to prepare so expect a wait. During this time, stroll down to the beach or sit on the deck, have a cold beer and watch the local kids jump off the wharf.
The fish and Chips at Richards is the best I have ever eaten! The pieces are huge and the batter is out of this world. It is not a typical beer batter and of course, it is a Secret. When the fish is dipped in Richard`s home made tarter sauce, the flavours are unbelievable. The tarter sauce is very unique, it is made with the addition of pimentoes and compliments the fish beautifully. The coleslaw is distinct, with red and purple cabbage and sun flower seeds. Of course it is accompanied by french fries, PEI is the home of the potato and these fries are delicious. Fresh and perfectly cooked! This place is hopping at lunch and dinner and there will be a line so make a day of it and go to the beach. Just a few tips: There is a charge to enter a Provincial Park but no charge if you are just going to the wharf. Also, order a extra piece of fish and share one order of fish and chips. There will be plenty, be sure to ask for additional tarter sauce and cold slaw.
Enjoy your own piece of heaven .  5 mmm`s out of 5

  1. I tried Richards, and it is very good, but not the best I've had. (That distinction goes to the Parkland take-out in Alma, NB!)

  2. :) I also tasted the fish and chips at Parkland and for the 'Traditional' fish and chips they really are great.
