Godley & Creme

Godley & Crème on Urbanspoon

On the corner of Sherbrooke and St Urbain, you will find tucked in a small corner a Fantastic little Gem.  I had the most delicious sandwich, a roasted chicken with smokey chipolte peppers, fresh guacamole and white cheddar. It also had tomatoes, lettuce and sauteed mushrooms but the piece de resistance was the warm, home made focaccia bread. It was served with chick peas that had been baked with the chicken and smokey peppers -yum. I love, love, love good quality, freshly made food and this is just that!.

The atmosphere is comfortable with the exposed stone/ brick walls and mason jars for glasses. The food was great, the service was extremely pleasant  and the prices can not be beat. Check this place out, you will be happy you did!

5 mmm's out of 5

A sad bit of "foodie news"

A temporary shutter was announced prior to the holidays.

A diminutive café homage to your favourite 1980s English rock duo is officially closed. Godley & Crème, a café, bakery, breakfast spot hybrid on the corner of Sherbrooke and Saint-Urbain from principal Patricia Godley, halted business in early December until further notice. The hiatus now seems permanent. A spokesperson: "We're officially closed to the public at this location. We're strictly open now as a supplier to other cafés."
It's enough to make you want to "Cry."
