Malpeque oysters are world renowned, having them in a Beachy little restaurant on the wharf in Malpeque is heavenly!

Part of the charm of PEI are the back roads, the natural beauty is amazing, rolling hill with red soil and the rich blue sea as a back drop. Enjoy a drive to Malpeque Oyster Barn and feast on their spectacular, edgy home cooking of the bounty from the sea.

I shared a 1/2 dozen small oysters, they can be ordered in large sizes but when eating them raw, I go for small - served with  horseradish. They offer a variety of original  PEI sauces, I have tried them with lemon or cocktail sauce but I don't think they get any better than with fresh grated horseradish. YUM!

I also sampled fish cakes with home made chow, a creamy clam chowder and steaming muscles. All were delish!  A little fish market, on the main floor, sells Fresh from the sea catches. Try a jar of Bar clams, a special treat to shell fish lovers.
The restaurant is small, maybe 10 tables so plan accordingly since this spot should not be missed!
