Dunes Gallery and Cafe, Brackley Beach, Prince Edward Island Lunch review

The Dunes are a "Must" when visiting the Island! The food is wonderful, their gallery is amazing and their flower gardens are out of this world.

Dunes Gallery & Cafe on Urbanspoon  I always visit for lunch and most times your name will be added to a waiting list. But that is just fine, because you will love looking through the gallery! It has a great selection from local artist - including the owner who makes pottery on site. There is clothing, furniture and many other treasures. After the hand held buzzer activates, you are seated in a dining room that shares the view of the gallery and the outdoor gardens. Start with The Grazer's Plate which is a fantastic mix of local and delicious chortzo sausage, a mild red lental hummas, cheddar cheese, spicy olives and picked egg served with a beautiful selection of bread - namely biscuits.  It is a wonderful starter and best when shared! Order a local Beach Chair Beer and continue the experience with crab cakes drizzled with wasabi lime mayonnaise. (Ask for extra mayo for dipping) PEI rock crab is not a familiar ingredient in the home of mussels, oysters and white fish but a very pleasing change. They are moist, well seasoned and delicious served with Asian slaw and green salad. I have yet to sample the deserts, simply because I am too full - no complaints here! Finish up with a stroll through a garden that is simply breath taking.
