Restaurant Beijing - lunch review

Restaurant Beijing, in China town, has never disappointed me in the 18 years I have been going there. The inside may not be romantic but you will fall in love with the food.

They have a Big menu with lots to choose from but here are a few of my tried and true favorites.  After sipping on a hot green tea, start with the traditional egg roll served with plum sauce, it is exactly what you would expect and very tasty.  Another appetizer to order is dumplings in hot peanut sauce, the sauce is mild, not spicy and the dumplings are soft and delicious. I always alternate between the sizzling beef and sizzling shrimps with green onions and fresh ginger. Both are sizzling hot and covered in a ginger sauce that always makes me close my eyes and say mmm. Add the stir fried mixed vegetables and a steamed white rice for a perfect complement to the rest of your meal. Finish up with the complementary plate of cut up sweet oranges and fortune cookies.

  1. I tried the ginger shrimp and they were delicious - I couldn't stop eating them!

  2. I also enjoyed the Gen Tsao chicken, which had just the right amount of 'tanginess' for me. The shangai and singapore noodles were also rather good.
